Kit Basics - debbi's designs

Just so you have an idea about where I come from with regards to my designs - my general style is simple and geometric.  I love bling, flowers, buttons, ribbon, lace and all other things embellishing - I just can't seem to get them all onto a page together.  I think this is because of my simple style.  Every once and a while I do have a tendancy to go a little 'overboard' but it really isn't - if it was too overboard for me I wouldn't use everything.  So far I have 4 different "lines" of kits:

Simple Elegance (SE)
Simple Fun (SF)
Simple Cuddles (baby/toddler) (SC)
Simple Holiday (SH)

Above in parentheses is the abreviation that a specific type will be 'labeled' as.

WRMK - Maple Grove

As soon as this line came into the store I was in awe.  I love all these colors together - that's really gold rather than yellow.  The cardstock strip provided for you to use for the title is the same color as the mats.  This kit sells for $8.00.

WRMK - Comstock Collection

The patterned paper for this kit is another line that has been around for awhile but it's so rich in color that is is really beautiful.  This layout design has 5 photo mats instead of the usual 4 I use; there's plenty of self-adhesive bling too!  I've, again, included a strip of cardstock to create a title that will be beautiful on the PP at the top left.  This kit sells for $8.00.

miracle

This was my first design with babies in mind.  Unfortunately, I could not find any of the paper, similar, for a boy.  I will keep looking!  In the picture you will note the green circle around the journaling 'box' - this is not random - it actually picks up the green in the patterned paper which doesn't show very well in the photo.  This kit sells for $8.00

My Mind's Eye - So Sophie

This design comes with a strip of the burgandy cardstock to create your own title and, of course, the self-adhesive bling accents.  The journaling block is a journal card from the same line.  The patterned paper has the burgandy as well as gold.  This kit sells for $8.00.

precious - boy or girl

The patterned paper on these layouts is shimmery and the journaling 'bottle' is pearlized as well.  The accent color on the boy kit is orange and the accent on the girl kit is yellow.  These kits sell for $8.00 each.

Creative Imaginations for a boy or a girl

These 'girl' and 'boy' designs were also very fun to make.  On the lower left is a journal block.  Both versions of this kit have the lined cardstock included - it just wasn't on the 'girl' version when I took the photo.  Both of these kits come with a strip of cardstock to create a title.  These kits sell for $8.00 each.

Monkey Business

This is very whimsical for me - something I had a LOT of fun creating.  Each monkey is a little bit different.  There are extra leaves in your kit to add around the pictures if you would like.  This kit sells for $8.00.

friends

Another Asian themed patterned paper, this one VERY shimmery.  Blue, smoky peach and a deep purple in the cardstock colors accent the PP.  Self-adhesive bling centers the flowers.  This kit sells for $8.00.

Fancy Free

This design uses papers from a much older Fancy Pants line but I loved the colors together.  The kit includes a piece of the brown cardstock to create a title and, of course, the self-adhesive bling for on the flourishes.  This kit sells for $7.00.

Sweet as a Cherry

Simple - as is my normal style, with lots of self-adhesive bling.  The patterned paper has some bling to it as well.  The accents are in a dark brown.  This kit sells for $8.00.

Snow Fun

This design uses Bo Bunny papers.  It was more of a winter line to me than Christmas.  There are additional, smaller snowflakes included in the kit that are not used in the layout shown.  This kit sells for $7.00.

Grow

I love the bright colors in this paper!  I used a QuicKutz die for the die cut flowers and the 'O' in the title - I used Bazzill Maraschino if you want to change the title.  The light colored paper on the right-hand side is part of the same line and can be used as a journal block if you want.  This kit sells for $8.00.

Play

This design incorporates buttons which I love but just don't use as often as I should and I loved the bright colors of this patterned paper.  If you prefer the mats in yellow rather than the red shown, just turn them over! - they're double-sided as well - the only cardstock in this kit is the background paper.  This kit sells for $8.00

100% pure ...

This is a GREAT 'generic' design to showcase a child or an event.  Using brown lettering on the blue swirly piece on the right-hand side to add the child's name - or even just the word 'FUN' would complement this layout very much.  This kit sells for $8.00.

Family Time

This kit is designed using a Bo Bunny Christmas line but doesn't require the photos to be Christmas - any winter photos would probably work.  Since my favorite color is red I just couldn't pass up making this design with this paper!  This kit sells for $8.00.

G45 Botanicabella

This design does not have a pre-done title so you can create your own - or not use one at all.  This is another design using the Graphic 45 line that I crave!  The flourishes come with bling that is self-adhesive.  This kit sells for $8.00

On the Road

This design is a bit busier than my normal style, but there are just SO many things you can do on a single road trip that I included quite a few die cuts and two sayings.  This kit sells for $7.00

Family Vacation

I love mixing different papers that are designed to work together.  Then I discovered the trailer that went perfectly with the paper and - voila - an idea was born.  This kit sells for $7.00

all a-flutter

This kit was a lot of fun to make, but I only had 8 pieces of the patterned paper and each kit used a whole sheet - to show off the butterflies.  Unfortunately...

THIS KIT IS SOLD OUT

a Rose

Another layout design using the Graphic 45 papers.  This one comes with the Shakespeare quote "by any other name would smell as sweet".

THIS KIT IS SOLD OUT.

Graphic 45 with butterfly

I'm not the only one, but I love the Graphic 45 papers.  There is one left of this kit and it sells for $7.00.  I did not create a title for this kit.

treasure

If you know me well enough you know I'm definately NOT a pink (or green) person with regards to color usage.  A friend had this paper and had no ideas as to what to do with it but for some reason it spoke to me, and we used the excess from each sheet for Operation Write Home cards so I think it was well worth it.  This kit sells for $7.00

harmony

I love the colors and real simplicity of this design.  I made more of this kit than any other so far and there are still a few left.  This kit sells for $7.00

beauty

This is the first layout kit I created and I believe there is only one left.  There is lots of room for photos and journaling.  All the bling shown comes with the kit, although the large piece on the right-hand side comes in two different styles, both very pretty with the Layout.  I think the bling on the right-hand side would be pretty accenting a picture - I put it where it is to show as part of the kit. This kit sells for $7.00

Crop anyone?

This weekend I'm down in Carson City for the 5th Anniversary marathon crop at County Purr Farm - 3 days of cropping at Donna Jean's store - what a GREAT way to spend the weekend!!!  I was really tired last night and we left the crop a bit early but I couldn't get to sleep so if I got 4 hours of sleep I'd be really surprised.

I'm quite excited because I've found some really cool papers for kits.  That's what I'm working on this weekend - I did bring a personal project with me [the A-Zoo album] but I think I'll save it for next weekend when Mom and I go over to Grass Valley to see Chase and Conner {my brother's 2 youngest sons}.  That way I only have to take a few things.

I brought a CD full of layout design pictures with me this weekend to see if I can post some of the pictures of my existing kits.  I'm hoping to get to that this evening and Sunday morning.

Bear with me please!!  Thank you!!

just checking in

It's been about a week since I started this blog and I keep forgetting to get my layout pictures onto a CD so I can transfer them into posts.  I'll also have to set up some business cards so people will know where to find me!  I should have some internet access this weekend, so maybe I'll be able to get some of the kits posted.

My very first "blog" post

Okay, so I'm sitting here (at a Scrapbook Store!!) and remembering that a friend said I should start my OWN blog.  I'm not sure how successful I'll be at keeping it up but I sure can try.  My friend said that I should post my layout kits so I will be trying to do that.
